Marni for H&M Spring 2012 Collection Preview

OMG! H&M had announced collaboration with Marni a few days ago. Before this announcement, everyone thought the next would be Tom Ford. But Marni made me feel more excited about this collaboration. The collection includes womenswear, menswear, jewelry, shoes, bags, and scarves. It will hit H&M stores worldwide and online on March 8, 2012.

Consuelo Castiglioni, creative director of Marni, said that she wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all Marni’s favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. Marni, the Italian label has told the world what Marni’s charming is. I love the way that Marni perfectly connected prints with simple silhouette. All Marni pieces look funky and chic. Let’s just enjoy Marni’s Spring 2012 ready-to-wear collection first.

For me, Marni means never-ending ladylike shapes and clean lines. Marni and Versace represent two different types of Italian style. For most girls, Marni might be more wearable. Never too sexy, but chic forever. Actually I feel a bit of disappointed about Versace for H&M. I don’t know how to explain my felling. They are just too…VERSACE. But this time, I am so happy that H&M chose Marni – one of my favorite brand.

Consuelo Castiglioni is one of my favorite designers. (Another one is MIUCCIA PRADA of course!) Let’s hear about her rules of men’s style. Here are some of my favorites:

“Shoes define the kind of man you are. They should never be too trendy or showy but lean toward the classic. There are a lot of ugly shoes out there, and they can ruin even the most sophisticated attire.”

“Clothes don’t necessarily render a man sexy—his attitude and his nature do. For me, someone who is not classically handsome but has a lot of charm is more attractive than a really good-looking guy with no personality.”

“My husband’s style is classic, but he’ll occasionally wear a Marni sweater or sneakers with a suit or try a jacket that’s slightly shorter, and it works for him. My son is more daring. The most important thing is to be yourself.

See? If you want to be stylish, the most important thing is to be yourself. It is not only for men, but for everyone. You got the point.
